My Video for Baby Boo and My Run

I went for my regular Saturday morning run at Hoff Park today and made a video for Baby Boo. I was going to show you but my computer is pissing me off...or maybe it's blogger/gmail/youtube...I've tried everything to get it to upload to my blog :( If my computer gets it together I'll post it at another time.

Since I felt good during the beginning of my run, I decided that my goal for today was either 4 miles or 45 minutes...whichever came last :) I'm not entirely confident that MapMyRun was functioning properly on my phone this morning. It said I ran 1 mile a little after what it usually does when I run that route. When I finished, my time was 45:48 with the distance claiming to be 4 miles. I'm thinking it might have been a tad more than that :) Either way, I'm proud of myself.

Running is a little frustrating right now because I have the lungs to back it up but my pelvis/hips start to ache and that's what makes me have to stop. I'm definitely slowing down (as you can see from my time) BUT I feel so blessed to be able to run even a little!

Happy Saturday, Everyone! AND WOO PIG SOOIE! GO RAZORBACKS!

Baby Boo: 27 Weeks

Third Trimester!!!!

(FOR MY REGULAR READERS, YOU KNOW I WOULD NORMALLY PUT MY FRUIT/VEGGIE PIC HERE BUT MY COMPUTER IS BEING A JERK AND ALL OF THE PICS YOU SEE HAVE TO COME STRAIGHT FROM MY PHONE RATHER THAN MY PICS ON THE COMPUTER...I'M MOSTLY VENTING RIGHT NOW)

The bump.com says baby is getting bigger AND smarter. The brain is becoming more complex and it's breathing amniotic fluid.

Baby Boo has been kicking A LOT! It's really cool and has yet to hurt me :-) I get worn out sometimes but, overall, I feel amazing! I'm still doing Hip Hip Fitness, jogging, and I even added pool plyometrics to my list (remember the Facebook post about showing off my belly while Mr. Boo was in his shorty shorts speedo?!)!

We had our last of 12 Bradley birth classes this week. I'm glad to have my Wednesdays back but I will miss that bonding time with Mr. Boo and my classmates. (Mr. Boo will have to start going back to worship rehearsals again). This class has really prepared us well and I can't wait to keep reviewing our stuff until Baby Boo comes!

Here is my 26 week belly pic (then I want to share about my amazing weekend!):

And this one for fun:

Thanks to my sis-in-law, Amy Davis, who let me borrow lots of maternity clothes...even maternity skinny jeans!!!

I had my first shower this weekend!!! My mom, my grandma, Joann, and another WV family member, Bev, threw me a great celebration with the theme "Pink or Blue? It's Baby Boo!" They put hard work into it which I greatly appreciated! I felt so loved! :-)

I received so many precious gifts including this baby rocking chair that my dad, Steve, repainted for me:

It's the same color as the dresser they repainted for the nursery.

Here are some family shots from the celebration:

FINALLY...I went to the MD on Tuesday. All is good and I passed my gestational diabetes test. Dr. P says I just need to keep doing what I'm doing (including exercising...for those who think it's going to hurt me!).

Baby Boo: 26 Weeks

Again, work/life has been insanely busy so I'm late posting this week!

Mmmm...lettuce.

I think Baby Boo is experiencing a growth spurt this week. I haven't been abnormally hungry my whole pregnancy until this week. I usually eat 2 waffles in the morning before work and that keeps me happy until around 10 a.m. This week, I noticed that I was STARVING even after eating my waffles. Yesterday, all the snacks I typically bring in my car to eat during the day just weren't doing it for me. I HAD to stop by McDonald's! I ordered a 10 piece nugget meal, medium size, ate the entire meal and didn't feel like barfing! The normal Lisa would be really full after eating a 6 piece nugget meal...that's why I'm convinced that it's Baby Boo starting to grow more!

Baby Boo is kicking all the time and it's awesome.

We had our next-to-last birth class this week and got to hear a couple share their birth story from about a month ago. This couple was part of our class the first 5 or 6 weeks but had to stop coming because they went into labor! Their baby was freakin' precious. Anyway, it was really cool to hear their experience and the unexpected events that came about during labor and delivery. They were able to go unmedicated but it wasn't easy...their labor started Sunday evening and lasted to Wednesday night! Oh my goodness! She worked really hard for a long time! Luckily, she didn't spend that entire time at the hospital. We learned a lot from what she said she did wrong with regards to what we learned in class. It was a huge blessing to be able to learn from their experience.

I usually post a race report when I do a race but I didn't have time this week so I thought I'd mention it here. The race was called "Taking Strides for Kids" and it was held at Creekside in Gahanna. It was mostly on trails which was awesome. I was very familiar with the route because I ran it a lot last year while training for the marathon. I can't believe how amazing I felt! My mile average was under 10 minutes which was totally unexpected! I was tired and a little sore the rest of the day but felt better the next day and was able to do Hip Hop Fitness for 2 hours!
I continue to be super encouraged by exercising. It makes me feel awesome and I know it's only helping. Even when I feel so tired (like before Hip Hop on Monday), exercising gives me that extra energy I need to keep going :)

Finally, I'm headed to WV tomorrow after work for my first baby shower!! I'm so excited and can't wait to see everyone!!!

My Birthday Celebration...31 YEARS OLD!!!

Thirty One is a weird number...I still feel young so that's what counts! As usual, I felt very loved on my birthday :) Thanks to everyone who called/texted/left messages on Facebook!

Thursday night, the night before my birthday, we met some of our life group friends at Benny's Pizza. Although the meeting wasn't specifically for my birthday, we did a little celebration while we were there. My friend, Becca, bought me some delicious donuts that I gladly pigged out on. Jimmy also presented me with my gift during dinner...

He handed me a gift bag. As I was taking out the tissue, I saw a Colts jersey in there. Of course I was excited...until I saw that it was an Andrew Luck jersey. He bought me an Andrew Luck jersey last year! What's going on?! He told me he bought it for himself as a symbol that he has committed to be a Colts fan with me. I would have been happy with that as my "gift" BUT...I know my husband...I knew something else was up. I just didn't know what.

He had to go to the bathroom and handed me our "eating out" envelope to pay for our meal. I had the feeling that something besides our eating out money was in that envelope. I opened it up to get the money and found this:

Tickets to the Colts/Broncos game in October!!! This is definitely a bucket list item and I don't want to know how much he paid for these! I'm just glad it's something that he'll enjoy as well...and it's a last hurrah before the baby comes! YAY!!!

In addition to this gift, I was given this journal from Amy, Chris, Molly, and Cooper (my in-laws, niece, and nephew):

This journal cracks me up because it has random things written in it like: "Breakfast for dinner...Awesome!" and "Celebrating your pet's birthday even though they have no idea what's going on." I can't wait to read the different awesome things as the days go by!

Both sets of Mr. Boo's parents gave me birthday money...it's hard for me to comprehend that I'm 31 and still get birthday money! LOL. Here's what I used the money for:

I bought some pregnancy clothes. I don't say maternity because I didn't get them from the maternity section :) I bought these maxi skirts (gray, pink, and green). I have never owned a maxi skirt because, for some reason, I felt like they were for pregnant women and moms! I definitely feel like a mom now that I have them.

And, of course, my awesome sisters, mom, step dad and sis, Katelyn, sent me cards :) I also have a Target gift card to spend from them! More maxi skirts?! I kid, I kid.

Thanks everyone for a wonderful birthday!

Baby Boo: 25 Weeks

I've been so crazy busy with work that I'm a little late on this week's Baby Boo post...sorry, folks! I'm super excited today because it's my birthday but I'm going to try not to share about my celebrations until tomorrow!

The fact that they are comparing my baby to cauliflower is just weird.

Thebump.com says that baby knows which way is up and which way is down...equilibrium!! I'm sleeping so much better with my new body pillow...it's amazing. I'm also feeling like a pee machine...I don't usually notice it until I stand and it all comes crashing down.

As the number of weeks I'm pregnant get higher, the number of weeks until I meet baby get so much smaller!! It's so crazy...15 weeks away :) Mr. Boo and I only have two more weeks left of our birth class. We've learned so much and, hopefully, we can remember all that we've learned between now and labor time.

Things to look forward to:
-Next weekend is my first baby shower! I know it seems early but I'll be travelling to WV to see my family and we wanted to do it before I get too big to travel...I can't wait!!!

-I'm doing my September 5k on Sunday! It's here in Gahanna at Creekside. My exercise routines are still going well. I'm still surviving Hip Hop Fitness and I'm so thankful for that! I'm still able to run...just a little slower than I'm used to. Last Saturday, I ran a little over 3 miles with my pace ranging between 10:00 and 10:40. I'm just thankful I can still do it!

Here's my 24 week pic from last week (PLEASE ignore how gorgeous I look...I just got out of the shower and I have a bandaid on my neck..lol):

I Woke Up Ready To Go!

I think my excitement about the Harry Potter marathon on abcFamily this weekend got me motivated enough to get up and go today! I woke up shortly after Mr. Boo left for volleyball, threw on some running clothes, and went to Hoff Park.

My running shirt was cracking me up today because, really, it's too small. It kept riding up my pregnant belly :) I got tired of pulling it down so I just let it all hang out!

I jogged a 5k distance (first time I've measured my distance all summer!) and did it around 31 minutes. I was impressed considering I was carrying my running partner ;)

When I got home, I wanted to take the girls for a walk. My precious pups and I explored our neighborhood for 54 minutes...good job girls! Here they are post walk:

I did a little grocery shopping between my run and going home so I could actually cook for my hubby today. What's for lunch? Breakfast food, of course!
Sausage Hashbrown Casserole...easiest, most delicious meal ever!

Now I get to spend the rest of the day watching college football and Harry Potter...and looking forward to the yummy chili I'm cooking in the crockpot! Happy Weekend Everyone!

Baby Boo: 24 weeks

As a form of stress relief, I'm going to write my weekly baby post :) I know that will make me smile.
.

I have a complaint about this fruit crap on Thebump.com. Last week, Baby Boo was a grapefruit...this week a cantaloupe. In my mind, a cantaloupe is WAY bigger than a grapefruit...BUT, if you notice the sizes they give for baby this week and last week, they are exactly the same! I feel cheated.

I don't think I mentioned my most recent OB-GYN appointment in my last post. Baby Boo still appears to be healthy. The heart rate is normal and it's kicking like it should be. (The PT in me wanted type "HR WNL"...I know you health field geeks will appreciate that). As some of you read on Facebook, they surprised me with an internal ultrasound (women like to be prepared for that kind of thing!). Dr. P. said he was checking to see if I'm at risk for pre-term labor...things were normal. My next visit, I have to do the glucose test. At that appointment, I weighed between 128-129 lbs...I gained about 4.5 lbs. since my last visit. Honestly, I'm going to dread seeing that scale over 130...I've never seen that before...I'll get over it!

My leg cramps are improving but I still get them occasionally. My doctor told me to start drinking juice each day to help with that (he knows I already drink a lot of water). My biggest complaint this week has been this pain I'm getting in my very lower abdomen...mostly on the right. After doing some research on my symptoms, I think it's round ligament pain. I was relieved to find out that it's a very normal pain rather than something serious in which I need to be concerned. The pain is tolerable but always catches me by surprise!

My friend, Lindsay, asked me if I had any clue or thoughts about what I might be having...boy vs girl, that is. She told me that she thought she was having a girl until she had a dream that she had a boy. She said she cried so hard about that! When the time came for the ultrasound, they found out it was a boy. Just a couple of nights after she told me that story, I had my first gender dream! I dreamt that it was a girl and her name was Kayla. lol. Although the thought of a girl excites me, I wouldn't care either way. I thought it was weird that her name was Kayla because that's not even on our girl name list...maybe it should be!

Here's my 23 week picture:
Dizzle!

Things to look forward to in the near future:
-next Friday is my first birthday as a pregnant lady (I'm totally making this into a celebration because I want to :))...we are going to a corn maze with some friends!
-my first baby shower is the week after in WV with my parents' side of the family! My mom is following me back to Columbus that Sunday to deliver my dresser for the nursery! That means I can start thinking more about any decorating I may want to do for it :)

Birth class #9 is tonight...can't remember the topic but I'm sure I'll learn lots!
