My Birthday Celebration...31 YEARS OLD!!!

Thirty One is a weird number...I still feel young so that's what counts! As usual, I felt very loved on my birthday :) Thanks to everyone who called/texted/left messages on Facebook!

Thursday night, the night before my birthday, we met some of our life group friends at Benny's Pizza. Although the meeting wasn't specifically for my birthday, we did a little celebration while we were there. My friend, Becca, bought me some delicious donuts that I gladly pigged out on. Jimmy also presented me with my gift during dinner...

He handed me a gift bag. As I was taking out the tissue, I saw a Colts jersey in there. Of course I was excited...until I saw that it was an Andrew Luck jersey. He bought me an Andrew Luck jersey last year! What's going on?! He told me he bought it for himself as a symbol that he has committed to be a Colts fan with me. I would have been happy with that as my "gift" BUT...I know my husband...I knew something else was up. I just didn't know what.

He had to go to the bathroom and handed me our "eating out" envelope to pay for our meal. I had the feeling that something besides our eating out money was in that envelope. I opened it up to get the money and found this:

Tickets to the Colts/Broncos game in October!!! This is definitely a bucket list item and I don't want to know how much he paid for these! I'm just glad it's something that he'll enjoy as well...and it's a last hurrah before the baby comes! YAY!!!

In addition to this gift, I was given this journal from Amy, Chris, Molly, and Cooper (my in-laws, niece, and nephew):

This journal cracks me up because it has random things written in it like: "Breakfast for dinner...Awesome!" and "Celebrating your pet's birthday even though they have no idea what's going on." I can't wait to read the different awesome things as the days go by!

Both sets of Mr. Boo's parents gave me birthday money...it's hard for me to comprehend that I'm 31 and still get birthday money! LOL. Here's what I used the money for:

I bought some pregnancy clothes. I don't say maternity because I didn't get them from the maternity section :) I bought these maxi skirts (gray, pink, and green). I have never owned a maxi skirt because, for some reason, I felt like they were for pregnant women and moms! I definitely feel like a mom now that I have them.

And, of course, my awesome sisters, mom, step dad and sis, Katelyn, sent me cards :) I also have a Target gift card to spend from them! More maxi skirts?! I kid, I kid.

Thanks everyone for a wonderful birthday!

Baby Boo: 25 Weeks

I've been so crazy busy with work that I'm a little late on this week's Baby Boo post...sorry, folks! I'm super excited today because it's my birthday but I'm going to try not to share about my celebrations until tomorrow!

The fact that they are comparing my baby to cauliflower is just weird.

Thebump.com says that baby knows which way is up and which way is down...equilibrium!! I'm sleeping so much better with my new body pillow...it's amazing. I'm also feeling like a pee machine...I don't usually notice it until I stand and it all comes crashing down.

As the number of weeks I'm pregnant get higher, the number of weeks until I meet baby get so much smaller!! It's so crazy...15 weeks away :) Mr. Boo and I only have two more weeks left of our birth class. We've learned so much and, hopefully, we can remember all that we've learned between now and labor time.

Things to look forward to:
-Next weekend is my first baby shower! I know it seems early but I'll be travelling to WV to see my family and we wanted to do it before I get too big to travel...I can't wait!!!

-I'm doing my September 5k on Sunday! It's here in Gahanna at Creekside. My exercise routines are still going well. I'm still surviving Hip Hop Fitness and I'm so thankful for that! I'm still able to run...just a little slower than I'm used to. Last Saturday, I ran a little over 3 miles with my pace ranging between 10:00 and 10:40. I'm just thankful I can still do it!

Here's my 24 week pic from last week (PLEASE ignore how gorgeous I look...I just got out of the shower and I have a bandaid on my neck..lol):

I Woke Up Ready To Go!

I think my excitement about the Harry Potter marathon on abcFamily this weekend got me motivated enough to get up and go today! I woke up shortly after Mr. Boo left for volleyball, threw on some running clothes, and went to Hoff Park.

My running shirt was cracking me up today because, really, it's too small. It kept riding up my pregnant belly :) I got tired of pulling it down so I just let it all hang out!

I jogged a 5k distance (first time I've measured my distance all summer!) and did it around 31 minutes. I was impressed considering I was carrying my running partner ;)

When I got home, I wanted to take the girls for a walk. My precious pups and I explored our neighborhood for 54 minutes...good job girls! Here they are post walk:

I did a little grocery shopping between my run and going home so I could actually cook for my hubby today. What's for lunch? Breakfast food, of course!
Sausage Hashbrown Casserole...easiest, most delicious meal ever!

Now I get to spend the rest of the day watching college football and Harry Potter...and looking forward to the yummy chili I'm cooking in the crockpot! Happy Weekend Everyone!

Baby Boo: 24 weeks

As a form of stress relief, I'm going to write my weekly baby post :) I know that will make me smile.
.

I have a complaint about this fruit crap on Thebump.com. Last week, Baby Boo was a grapefruit...this week a cantaloupe. In my mind, a cantaloupe is WAY bigger than a grapefruit...BUT, if you notice the sizes they give for baby this week and last week, they are exactly the same! I feel cheated.

I don't think I mentioned my most recent OB-GYN appointment in my last post. Baby Boo still appears to be healthy. The heart rate is normal and it's kicking like it should be. (The PT in me wanted type "HR WNL"...I know you health field geeks will appreciate that). As some of you read on Facebook, they surprised me with an internal ultrasound (women like to be prepared for that kind of thing!). Dr. P. said he was checking to see if I'm at risk for pre-term labor...things were normal. My next visit, I have to do the glucose test. At that appointment, I weighed between 128-129 lbs...I gained about 4.5 lbs. since my last visit. Honestly, I'm going to dread seeing that scale over 130...I've never seen that before...I'll get over it!

My leg cramps are improving but I still get them occasionally. My doctor told me to start drinking juice each day to help with that (he knows I already drink a lot of water). My biggest complaint this week has been this pain I'm getting in my very lower abdomen...mostly on the right. After doing some research on my symptoms, I think it's round ligament pain. I was relieved to find out that it's a very normal pain rather than something serious in which I need to be concerned. The pain is tolerable but always catches me by surprise!

My friend, Lindsay, asked me if I had any clue or thoughts about what I might be having...boy vs girl, that is. She told me that she thought she was having a girl until she had a dream that she had a boy. She said she cried so hard about that! When the time came for the ultrasound, they found out it was a boy. Just a couple of nights after she told me that story, I had my first gender dream! I dreamt that it was a girl and her name was Kayla. lol. Although the thought of a girl excites me, I wouldn't care either way. I thought it was weird that her name was Kayla because that's not even on our girl name list...maybe it should be!

Here's my 23 week picture:
Dizzle!

Things to look forward to in the near future:
-next Friday is my first birthday as a pregnant lady (I'm totally making this into a celebration because I want to :))...we are going to a corn maze with some friends!
-my first baby shower is the week after in WV with my parents' side of the family! My mom is following me back to Columbus that Sunday to deliver my dresser for the nursery! That means I can start thinking more about any decorating I may want to do for it :)

Birth class #9 is tonight...can't remember the topic but I'm sure I'll learn lots!

Baby Boo:23 Weeks

Grapefruit.

Thebump.com fun fact of the week: "She's more aware, too, and is listening to your voice and your heartbeat, as well as to loud sounds, such as cars honking and dogs barking. You may also feel your baby move when she hears something familiar."

I laughed when I read dogs barking...at least Baby Boo will be used to Izzie's loud bark when it comes out into the real world ;)

The Bradley Birth classes continue to be going well. After making our birth plans last week, we talked this week about unexpected situations that may arise. We learned how to make decisions that may sway from our original birth plan.
During the class, she asked us our biggest fear about labor and birth. Honestly, because of all the crap Mr. Boo and I have been getting from people about us attempting an unmedicated birth, my biggest fear is that I will have to use meds and that those people who doubt us will say "I told you so." I'm not scared that the pain will be so high that I need meds...I'm afraid that something in the process will go wrong that will require me to take meds to keep me and the baby safe. Our teacher encouraged us not to feel like "failures" if we have to sway from our plan. But that's REALLY hard when so many people doubt that you can do it.

On a positive note, I have been feeling Baby Boo a lot more this week. I even saw my belly move because he/she kicked so hard!

My parents finished Baby Boo's dresser! I can't wait to see it next month and figure out how to arrange it in the nursery! It looks so pretty :)

A also decided on a theme for my maternity shoot in October (you know me...I love themes!). Since it will be fall and I LOVE the fall season, we will go to Lynd's fruit farm to take some pics with the apple trees, pumpkins, etc.

Here's my 22 week photo from this past weekend:
Did I blow up all of a sudden or what?! Dang!

Also, the sweet Hip Hop instructor, Martha, was kind enough to send me some pics of me hip hopping with my bump (ignore the fact that I look weird...lol...just notice the bump):

Woo Pig Sooie!

The Dog Jog and Heart Walk

I've been promising a Dog Jog report...so sorry it took me a week! Last Sunday morning, Mr. Boo and I woke up  bright and early to take the girls to the CHA 2013 Dog Jog. The goal was to raise money for the humane society. As most of you know, my beagle, Angel, was adopted. So giving money to this is close to our hearts :)

After the dogs got over the initial shock of being around the other hundreds of dogs that they weren't allowed to play with, they took in all of the scents around the place.

After 45 minutes of sniffing, they were ready to start!

The event was a 5k. The four of us, a.k.a. The Davii, did a combo of walking and jogging. I was so proud of my boo and the girls! They were amazing! Around the end of each mile, they had a plastic pool full of ice...this was Izzie's dream come true!! Angel just wanted water...but Izzie took time to play in the ice and cool off. I'm sure she ate her fair share of ice cubes :)

After finishing, we were all pooped! We all came home for late morning naps.

Yesterday, I met my coworkers at Columbus Commons for the Heart Walk. It was also a 5k. I saw so many people from church, old coworkers, my hip hop fitness buddies...it was awesome. I also developed new relationships with my new coworkers.
(from left: Me and Baby Boo, Andrea and her son Landon in the stroller, Tere and her son James)

There were a ton of other MacIntosh employees there but we were representing Amity Home Health. It was awesome to walk/run with Andrea. I learned a lot about pregnancy and about her! I might have even recruited her for hip hop fitness!

Baby Boo: 22 Weeks

The coolest thing Thebump.com mentioned about the baby this week is that it is starting to sleep in cycles...about 12-14 hours per day. I do feel movements occasionally but nothing consistent. Although, it seems as if it has been a little more active today...maybe that means I'll feel the "real" movements soon!

I'm getting closer to getting my "outie" and looking at my belly is still SO WEIRD! I'm interested to see what my weight is next week at the doctor!

Speaking of appointments, at next week's visit, I'm going to mention to Dr. P that Mr. Boo and I are starting a rough draft of our birth plan. I'm not planning to share all of the details with him yet (unless he asks) but simply want to let him know that we are discussing it and that the basics are that we want a drug-free experience. I would love prayers regarding this because drug-free births aren't the norm around here and I don't want to feel like I'm being annoying and complicated because of this request.

We had our 7th (of 12) birth class this week and it was all about making your birth plan. I have some things I want to research more but have an overall idea of what we want. We also did Mr. Boo's favorite activity this week...simulation of contractions! It's so hard to take this part seriously, though. Mr. Boo did such an amazing job!!! He was a good coach, timed the contractions perfectly, and knew when to tell me to relax and breathe properly. :) I have total confidence in him!

Here it is...my 21 week picture taken last week on Friday:

P.S. I survived a 2 hour Hip Hop Fitness session this week and only rested for 1 song (an hour and a half into it!)...Yes, I'm bragging a little :) We also did the Dog Jog this past Sunday with our girls (which I still need to post about! Oops!)
